STUDENT: Summer Mentorship Program

The University of Pennsylvania in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia are sponsoring a summer opportunity for students who are currently enrolled in 10th or 11th grade to learn about college and about careers in six fields: Dental Medicine, Engineering/Internet Technology, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Veterinary Medicine. Students spend 4 weeks (July 7 - August 5) attending a day program on Penn's campus and earn a $400 stipend for the successful completion of the program. Oratorical Contest Winners

Congratulations to Porcha Hyman and Katrina Scott for their 1st and 2nd place finishes, respectively, in our Black History Month Oratorical Contest. The topic was "Why African Americans should have HOPE for their future, and my contribution to that end." Both young ladies presented great speeches to the faculty and staff and have been awarded with plaques and will be receiving cash prizes for their efforts ($100 and $50).
