The ASA/NCTM Joint Committee is pleased to sponsor a Beyond AP Statistics (BAPS) Workshop at the annual Joint Statistical Meetings in Washington, DC, August 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Organized by Roxy Peck, the BAPS workshop is offered for experienced AP Statistics teachers and consists of enrichment material just beyond the basic AP syllabus. The cost of the workshop is $50, which covers materials, lunch, and refreshments. Participants will also be given a pass to attend the exhibit hall at the Joint Statistical Meetings and a certificate of participation from the American Statistical Association certifying professional development hours. Optional graduate credit is also available. Course attendees do not need to register for the Joint Statistical Meetings in order to participate in this workshop. The course is divided into four sessions led by noted statisticians:

Tom Short, John Carroll University - Logistic Regression

Robin Lock, St. Lawrence University - Multiple Regression

Allan Rossman, Cal Poly - Randomization Tests

Online registration is available at www.amstat.org/education/baps. Registrations will be accepted until the course fills, but should arrive no later than July 15, 2009. Since space is limited, register as soon as possible.
